Knee pain

The knee is one of the most complex joints in our bodies and therefore easily injured. The knee is made up of four bones, ligaments, two groups of muscles, and cartilage.

The femur is made up of your thighbone which rotates on the tibia. The patella, or what we call the kneecap, is located at the end of the femur. The fibula is a thin bone attached to the muscles of the lower leg.

The knee muscles are responsible for moving and stabilizing the joint, while large ligaments help control the motion.

Another important structure is the meniscus, which is a piece of cartilage protecting the joint and acting as a shock absorber between the bones.

Common knee injuries include strains and tears of muscles, tendons, and ligaments in your knee. Athletes are especially prone to injuries of their knee ligaments, like patellar tendinopathy (Jumper’s knee). To read more about sports injuries please refer to the treatment section.

A torn meniscus is one of the most common knee injuries. A meniscus tear often happens during sports; however it can affect anyone at any age. Because the knee cartilage weakens with age, older people are more likely to experience a tear by accidentally twisting the knee during everyday activities.

Other causes of knee pain include bursitis, fractures, and knee arthritis.

Bursitis is an inflammation of the bursa, a lubricating sac located between the bone and tendon, enabling smooth movement of the kneecap. It is caused by constant pressure on the bursa (a lot of kneeling) or by a direct blow to the knee.

Because the knee is made of and surrounded by various bones, a fracture to any of them may affect the entire knee function. Fractures to the femur, tibia, and fibula can be caused by blows or falls, often associated with sports. Motor vehicle accidents are another common cause, while elderly people may suffer a fracture from a lower energy injury due to weakened bones.

Fractures to the patella (kneecap) are mostly caused by a direct fall or blow to the knee. If the patella is displaced, surgery is usually required.

Pulsed Electero Magnetic therapy stimulates bone growth in fractures and relieves pain associated with connective and soft tissue injuries. For best results use the Curatron XP system with a high energy coil for fast pain relief and treatment.

Jenni from Australia sent us an update after using the Curatron for just 3 days with remarkable results:

I have been using the Curatron mattress and high energy coil on my right knee now for 3 days and the results are unbelievable, I can walk without pain in that knee and I can actually see bones in my leg (all the swelling has gone down).

The surgeon told me I had to have a knee replacement, but if this treatment keeps up like this I can say goodbye to surgery!I am not sure how it works, but it does, thank you for giving me the opportunity to be pain free and feel human again!
